by Ron Eaton, Cass County Coordinator

Emily RohlffEmily Rohlff of Union, Nebraska, assembled her bluebird box kit in2006, as a student in the third-grade class at Conestoga Elementary School.
(Editor’s note: Cass County Coordinator Ron Eaton annually takes box kits to the third-grade class, helps the students kids assemble the kits and talks to them about bluebirds, their habitat and monitoring the boxes.)

Emily took her box home, put it up in good blue bird habitat, and monitored it regularly. What followed is an amazing success story: In 2006 she fledged 14 bluebirds and in 2007 she fledged 15 bluebirds – ALL FROM ONE BOX! Don’t we all wish we could do so well!  Congratulations Emily! Great Job!
