Educational programs for children at the 2007 BAN Conference

Why bring your kids and grandkids to the 2007 Bluebirds Across Nebraska Conference in Nebraska City this year? For an educational experience at Arbor Day Farms they are sure to remember. This year BAN is including programs for children in grades K-8.

At the morning session kids will share Breakfast With The Birds as they spend the morning with an Arbor Day Farm educator and learn how birds with different beaks are challenged to find the right diet that will ‘fit the bill’ and fill their needs. They will be challenged to pick up a beak and chow down! Other highlights include the Bird Mimic Station, Birding Habitat, and the Bird Nest collection that helps kids learn more about the uniqueness of the birds all around us.

After a hearty lunch at the conference, the children will return to Arbor Day Farm in the afternoon to:

Climb the Canopy Tree

Solve nature challenges in the Nature Explorer Club Cabin

Stroll streamside on the Exploratory Trail

Meet the “ghost” of “Mr. Morton”

Enjoy “Trees in the Movies”

Create music and art in the Nature Explore Classroom…..and receive a tree to take home and plant.

BAN, and the educators at Arbor Day Farms, encourage you to bring your children to the 2007 Bluebirds Across Nebraska Conference where they’ll spend the day exploring their natural surroundings.
