Bluebirds Across Nebraska made its first appearance in Nebraska 's largest annual parade in Grand Island on October 4th. A talented group of BAN members put together a very creative and impressive float .

From Hall County Coordinator Gordon Backer: “I thought the fl oat was a plus for Bluebirds Across Nebraska. The Police Department estimated 7,000 - 8,000 people on the streets watching and who knows how many on TV. We saved most of the materials and they could be used again if any bluebirder would like to use it.”

Thanks to each of the following individuals who contributed to the success of this float:

Gordon Backer, Gary & Linda Sander, Connie McCartney, Anne Kruse, Russ Supencheck, Ben Swanson, Tami Obermeier, and Nila Howard. Nila made the basket-nest and the costumes for the little bluebirds!
